First Snowman

When Ian helps with the project, it ends up being a pretty cool one.
Here's the first snowman of the season.

Blue and White Quilt

I started this quilt years ago. YEARS. I had the top done, and left it out in my mess...and came downstairs and someone (whichever child was young enough at the time) had CUT it.
Discouraged, I folded it up and put it away...
for years.

Finally, for Christmas of 2008, I brought it out, cut off the parts that had been cut into, and made a smaller throw size for my mom.

I love the simplicity of the blue and white. I quilted the heck out of it, which at the time of quilting it (on my own little machine) it looks horrible. All the tucks and puffs and shifted seams... UG!

But washed, it is so wrinkled and cute (not looking too closely)!

Sometimes I wish I didn't give almost every quilt I make away!  :)

2 quilts-same fabric (Shabby Chic)

Here are a couple of quilts I made with the same fabric.

The first is for my beautiful sister, Cammy.  She was "mine" in the Christmas drawing this year.

I wanted to make her a quilt that she would like...
...duh...
That was a dumb thing to say.
Of course I wanted to make one she'd like. What I meant to say was, when I thought about what she'd like, my first thought was Blue. But also a sort of old fashioned feminine. So I went to the fabric store and brought home all these pretty florals.

I think it looks sort of Shabby Chic.

I striped the back with a couple of white/brown striped (looks white) fabric panels. It made it a little more interesting, I thought.
Cammy and her quilt.

She liked it. :) It's only a throw size... But she said that was perfect for the back of the couch or somewhere like that. Phew... :)

And then one of my very best friends had a baby girl. I had so much left over fabric and I thought she'd like one similar so I made another one - baby size.

This time I cut smaller squares and created a more scrappy look, bordered and backed in the blue.

Mom liked it. :)
Baby Bree will hopefully notice it someday. haha

I can't decide which I like better. :)

Too Old to be Scared of Swinging

He's too old to be scared of swinging.
But he is. This is the only way I can get him to swing without making a big scene.

We don't have a swing set in our backyard anymore. That's probably his problem... The other kids got a lot of practice, but not Owen.

But this is fun too. :)

Especially making faces for the camera.
